Camilo José Cela

Bronze sculpture. On Sunday, May 11, 1986, the day commemorating the 70th anniversary of Camilo José Cela’s birth, this original monument by the sculptor Pablo Serrano was unveiled (posthumously, since he died in 1985). The artwork was donated by the Provincial Council of A Coruña, chaired by Enrique Marfany  Oanes.

The unveiling ceremony featured the presence of Camilio José Cela himself, who used the occasion to announce a change in his last will and testament, indicating his desire to be buried in his birthplace, Iria Flavia.
