Bandín Route

DESCRIPTION: A linear route located at the foot of Castro Valente, which takes us to Fonte da Virxe.

The place where, according to tradition, on the day of the pilgrimage (September 24) people come to wash their warts or skin complaints, using the water of this miraculous fountain, to make them disappear.

The itinerary begins at the Chapel of A Nosa Señora de Mercé. Today, this church reflects the baroque style, with a Latin-cross ground plan and a prominent presbytery featuring granite stonework.

According to the locals, the chapel was built to commemorate the appearance of the stone sculpture of Our Lady, which was found in the fountain and is now housed inside the building.
