BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A circular route in Padrón combining heritage and jacobean attractions:

  • The Pedrón is really a Roman altar  where the boat was moored that transported the remains of St. James from Palestine to the Galician coast and was accompanied by his disciples Theodore and Athanasius.
  • The Santiaguiño do Monte is traditionally identified as one of the holy places where the Apostle James preached in the Iberian Peninsula, around the year AD 40.
  • The Church of Santa María a Maior de Iria Flavia is one of the oldest churches in Galicia and considered the first Marion one in the world.
