Igrexa de Santa María de Herbón
The Romanesque Church of Santa María of Herbón is built in the area which bears its own name, Herbón, a town where the famous peppers are grown.
This 12th-century building was ordered to be built by Bishop Gelmírez, as indicated by inscription on the left capital of the church apse. It only has a single nave, featuring buttresses and decoration in Compostela’s Romanesque style, although what attracts and captivates visitors the most is its height.
