Padrón during the lamprey season

Padrón’s residents especially enjoy the time for catching lamprey, which ranges from the beginning of the year until after Easter, and we want you to come! You can visit whenever you want the area of the “pesqueiras” (weirs) on the River Ulla, where this fish is caught, and then savour it in the area’s restaurants that prepare it in different ways.

We host the Lamprey Gastronomy Festival, which features different activities that you can consult beforehand online in your own home, so as to organise your visit: cooking workshops, guided tours of the lamprey-fishing area, talks with fishermen, tastings and menus…
